Press-Seal Gasket Adding Equipment, Increasing Production Capacity in Fort Wayne

Press-Seal Gasket Corporation, a locally based company specializing in the design and manufacture of sealing products for underground collection systems, has announced an expansion of its manufacturing facilities in Fort Wayne. The company will close on the former Brunswick facility at 2801 W. State Blvd. on June 1, 2015. Press-Seal will renovate and fully equip the additional space for manufacturing. The company will fill 38 additional jobs, adding to the company’s current 175-person workforce as a result of the $3.4 million expansion.

Press-Seal Gasket Corporations President and Chairman, James Skinner, said “Our company has a sixty three (63) year record of adding and retaining high quality jobs to the Fort Wayne area and we are very proud of that. We belong to a shrinking list of family owned and led companies, currently having the third generation of the Skinner family assuming positions of leadership. This new facility acquisition positions us for future growth as we continue to diversify and enter into new markets that require precision machining and metrology”.

City of Fort Wayne and Greater Fort Wayne Inc. are working to help facilitate Press-Seal Gasket’s phase-in of a total estimated saving on the 10 year personal property phase-in and the 7 year real property phase-in of $245,654. City Council will be introduced the project on May 12 with discussion, public hearing and potential passage on May 26.

“The City of Fort Wayne continues to see job and business growth that’s making a meaningful difference for our local economy,” said Mayor Tom Henry. “Press-Seal Gasket is demonstrating a strong commitment to investing in Fort Wayne by expanding its operations and adding new jobs.”
