Position Title: Impact Coordinator
Reports To: Director of Investor Programs
Starting Compensation: $42,000-$45,000 Salary
Role Description
The Impact Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the administration and logistics of various GFW Inc. programs, events, and team meetings. They are integral to our work of providing opportunities that connect, inspire, celebrate, and educate our members and business professionals in Allen County. This position requires a relationship-driven professional who is comfortable owning outcomes, working independently and cohesively with a team, and representing GFW Inc. in a highly visible community role. Ideal for an early-career candidate, this role is designed to grow in scope and offers mentorship, hands-on experiences, and meaningful opportunities for advancement over time.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead and/or support the Impact Team with planning and executing the assigned events and programs outlined below. Detailed descriptions can be found at the end of this section.
- Lead: Member Celebration Services, Business Excellence Awards, Executive Roundtables, & Leads Groups
- Support: GFW Inc. Signature Events, Allen County Leaders Luncheons, Business Advocacy, & Meet Me @ 5:05
- Assist with program logistics such as catering, décor, venue or vendor contracts, room layout & setup, technology, entertainment, merchandise, registration, billing, surveys, invoicing, check requests, etc.
- Prepare materials before events, such as agendas, handouts, learning resources, name tags, and table signage
- Data entry/management of assigned program participants & event registrations
- Support Chief Growth Officer with personal calendar scheduling, Impact team meetings/retreats planning & scheduling, and other miscellaneous projects as requested
- Maintain and administer the GFW Inc. master calendar, ensuring accurate entry of organization-wide events, deadlines, and staff milestones; publish regular updates and modifications as needed
- Maintain organization of current GFW Inc. merchandise inventory; order new promotional items for upcoming events
- Attend and participate in GFW Inc. signature events, additional programs, ribbon cuttings, and networking socials as requested or when calendar allows as a visible and professional ambassador of the organization
- Assist Operations Team with office greeting & reception desk coverage on assigned days
Required Experience & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or 2+ years of relevant event management or related job experience
- Demonstration of event planning expertise such as vendor & contract management, maintaining fiscal responsibility with budget management, creative problem-solving, innovative solutions, and thorough organization skills
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills, including written, verbal, and public speaking
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and in group settings within a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with the ability to create, follow, and improve systems while driving results
- Comfortability interacting and communicating with C-level executives and government officials
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams & Sharepoint) and CRM systems
- Passion for the Fort Wayne and Allen County community
Impact Coordinator Related Event / Programs:
- GFW Inc. Signature Events (Four Annual Events): Our largest & most notable community events where business and community leaders come together to celebrate local businesses, create connections, and explore the economic progress within our community. Includes our Annual Meeting, Greater Golf Open, Economic Development Summit, & Holiday Night.
- Allen County Leaders Luncheons (Two Annual Events): These exclusive, member-only events feature keynote presentations and panel discussions on topics relevant to our community – designed to inspire, inform, and connect professionals with the leaders shaping Allen County’s future.
- Business Advocacy Series (Three Annual Events): These events feature engagement with Northeast Indiana’s legislative delegation and provide an opportunity to hear from local elected officials on key business issues, policy updates, and the legislative outcomes of each session.
- Meet Me @ 5:05 Series (Three Annual Events): Engaging after-hour events designed for local business professionals to build meaningful connections in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. This popular series offers the perfect opportunity to exchange ideas, spark collaboration, and strengthen networks while enjoying conversations and great food.
- Member Celebration Services (Year-Round): Highlighting our member milestones and their success in business, these events include groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, and anniversaries. We bring giant scissors, gold-plated shovels, and community connections together to make it a moment to remember.
- Business Excellence Awards (Spring): Celebrated during our Annual Meeting, these awards honor companies that set the standard for excellence in our community. We recognize finalist nominee organizations that drive innovation, create opportunities, and make Allen County a better place to live and work.
- GFW Inc. Executive Roundtables (Year-Round): Private member groups of executive-level leaders who share insights, exchange ideas, and tackle challenges unique to the C-Suite level in an organization. These peer-to-peer discussions create meaningful connections with others who understand the weight of leadership, offering fresh perspectives and practical solutions to drive their business and our community forward.
- GFW Inc. Leads Groups (Year-Round): Private member groups that meet regularly to share business referrals and help grow one another’s business. Limited to one professional per industry or category in each group, these members pass along contacts for a competitive edge as they chase professional goals.

Work Schedule and Expectations
- This role is primarily weekday, business-hour based, with occasional evening commitments (an average of two to three per month) required for events, programs, and member engagement activities.
- GFW Inc. is located in the 1st Source Bank building in downtown Fort Wayne. Reliable transportation needed for off-site meetings and events.
- Office hours are 8:00am-5:00pm Monday through Thursday and 8:00am-3:00pm Friday.
- Employees may take up to three remote workdays per month, as approved by their supervisor.
- Our dress code is “dress for your day” with business casual as the in-office norm and business professional attire for events and important meetings.
