
Member Engagement Manager
Starting Compensation: $48,000–$53,000, salaried position
Reports To: Director of Investor Engagement
Position Description:
The Member Engagement Manager is responsible for building, strengthening, and retaining meaningful relationships with Greater Fort Wayne Inc.’s 1,400+ members. This role serves as a primary point of connection between members and the organization, ensuring members understand, engage with, and realize value from their investment in GFW Inc.
This position requires a relationship-driven professional who is comfortable owning outcomes, working independently, and representing GFW Inc. in a highly visible, member-facing role. Success in this role depends on relationship building, proactive member communication, strong organization, and an interest in growing our business community.
The Member Engagement Manager owns the member experience lifecycle, including:
- Member growth and retention outcomes
- Member onboarding and engagement strategy
- Member benefit programs, including contracting, usage tracking, promotion, and program scaling
- Accuracy, usability, and integrity of the membership database
- Member onboarding events and resources, including Maximize Your Membership programs and member tutorials
Key Responsibilities:
Member Growth and Retention
- Build and implement strategies to attract, onboard, engage, and retain GFW Inc. members
- Serve as a relationship manager for members, ensuring they understand and utilize available benefits
- Conduct proactive outreach to strengthen engagement
- Meet annual revenue goals related to new member dues and renewals
Member Experience and Programs
- Coordinate and speak at Maximize Your Membership events (six per year)
- Manage and scale PartnerPerks and other member benefit initiatives
- Assist with planning and logistics for Workforce and Waffles events (two per year)
- Ensure programs deliver clear value and positive return on investment for members
Systems and Operations
- Serve as the primary administrator of the membership database and CRM
- Design, maintain, and evolve member-facing and internal resources to improve engagement, clarity, and system adoption
- Maintain clean, accurate records related to member status, engagement, and communications
- Continuously improve systems and processes that support member engagement and operational efficiency
Internal and External Collaboration
- Own the end-to-end scheduling and preparation for top-level investor meetings
- Collaborate with internal teams to align member programs, events, and engagement goals
- Represent Greater Fort Wayne Inc. at meetings, events, ribbon cuttings, and networking activities as a visible and professional ambassador of the organization
Required Experience and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience in membership organizations, associations, chambers of commerce, nonprofits, account management, or relationship-based sales
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills, including written, verbal, and public speaking
- Ability to manage multiple priorities independently in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented, with the ability to create, follow, and improve systems
- Comfort discussing value, handling objections, and supporting renewals
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Teams, Zoom, and CRM systems
- Passion for the Fort Wayne and Allen County community

Work Schedule and Expectations
This role is primarily weekday, business-hour based, with occasional evening commitments (an average of two to three per month) required for events, programs, and member engagement activities.
GFW Inc. is located in the First Source Bank building in downtown Fort Wayne. Reliable transportation is needed for off-site meetings and events.
Office hours are 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. on Fridays.
Employees may utilize up to three remote workdays per month.
Dress code is “dress for your day,” with business casual as the in-office norm and business professional attire for events and important meetings.
