Local companies set to celebrate Small Business Saturday

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Greater Fort Wayne Inc. is trumpeting a diverse group of local businesses for Small Business Saturday on Nov. 30. In all, 21 companies are part of the GFW Inc. “Neighborhood Champion” team, an effort to encourage residents to shop at and support local businesses.

“Small Business Saturday is all about celebrating our local entrepreneurs and the unique flavor they bring to our community,” said Aaryn Eady, director of investor engagement at Greater Fort Wayne Inc. “Small business owners work hard to create jobs and make Allen County a better place to live. We hope people make it a habit to shop local and support small businesses.”

This is the 10th annual Small Business Saturday, organized by American Express. In the nine Small Business Saturdays to date, shoppers have spent an estimated $103 billion at small businesses nationwide. And, according to a 2018 study commissioned by Amex, for every dollar spent at a small business in the U.S., approximately 67 cents stays in the local community.
