Shelby Nichter

Shelby joined the GFW Inc. team in 2024 to support the Impact Team with programs and events, ensuring they run smoothly and successfully. She is a familiar face at all GFW Inc events including networking events, ribbon cuttings, socials, and workshops. She leads Signature events including Annual Meeting, the Greater Golf Open, Economic Development Summit as well as Allen County Leaders Luncheons. She also supports programs such as the Women’s Network and Leadership Fort Wayne.

After graduating from Ball State University, Shelby worked for the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne for 10 years. As the Program Director overseeing summer camp, outdoor education, and retreats, she connected residents of Northeast Indiana to the outdoors, sparking a curiosity for the natural environment.

Following the YMCA, Shelby educated residents through presentations, workshops, and community outreach events as the Communications and Outreach Coordinator for the Allen County Department of Environmental Management.

Shelby has a passion for nature, sustainability, and the Fort Wayne and Allen County community. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, gardening, and tending to her honeybee hives. Shelby also serves as the Board Secretary for a local nonprofit, Eco Fest Fort Wayne.
