Centier Bank opening new branch in downtown Fort Wayne

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Centier Bank is expanding into the heart of downtown Fort Wayne. The Merrillville-based bank will open its second Fort Wayne branch at 803 S. Calhoun St., Suite 100, steps away from the iconic Allen County Courthouse. A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new location is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 13, and will also include a community donation to CASS Housing, a Fort Wayne nonprofit.

Centier Bank, Indiana’s largest private, family-owned bank, has been providing a range of financial solutions and services since 1895, and is gearing up to commemorate the bank’s 125th anniversary in 2020.

“We are proud to bring community banking to downtown Fort Wayne, to serve the incredible families and businesses who live and work here,” said Rob Slusser, senior vice president of business banking and Fort Wayne market president at Centier Bank.

Centier Bank began in Whiting, Ind., as an independent community bank and continues four generations later under the leadership of CEO Mike Schrage. Carrying on his family’s legacy and providing hometown banking, Schrage maintains a firm “Not for Sale” commitment that Centier will remain family-owned and Indiana-based.

“What makes Centier so unique is our relationship-style banking. We aim to provide our clients with a world-class banking experience,” Slusser said. “Beyond that, we are honored to serve as a partner with local organizations and look forward to working together to make the community a better place.”

Centier Bank opened its first Fort Wayne location in 2016 on the city’s north side, at 10315 Dupont Circle Dr. W. The company currently operates 63 branches across Indiana, with downtown Fort Wayne being its 64th branch, and employs more than 900 associates.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony is open to invited guests and members of the media. Mayor Tom Henry is expected to be in attendance, along with Schrage and other members of Centier Bank’s leadership team.
