American Sealants Inc. to expand in Fort Wayne

Fort Wayne, Ind. – American Sealants Inc. announced expansion plans to add 10 jobs and invest $3.3 million in a new facility on the south side of town. The move to a larger facility, 60,000 sq. ft., will allow the company to add additional mixers and packaging equipment for RTV silicones and adhesives as well as dielectric greases. The project is expected to be completed in 2017.

“Fort Wayne is centrally located which gives American Sealants the flexibility to serve our many customers throughout the United States,” said Chris Zaremba, president of American Sealants. “We look forward to growing our business within Fort Wayne because of its talented work force and its emphasis on growing business and the community.”

American Sealants has been a family‐owned and operated business for more than 25 years. The company focuses on providing its “ASI” brand of silicones and adhesives to different types of industries including, but not limited to, aquarium, automotive, construction, electronics, food service, industrial, metal building and window. In addition, American Sealants offers private labels for their products for small companies looking to expand their brand as well as large multi‐national companies who sell retail or distribute the company’s core products. Toll blending and contract packaging is also available.

“Indiana has built a business climate that sets companies up to succeed in today’s competitive economy,” said Eric Doden, president of the Indiana Economic Development Corporation. “Already operating in Fort Wayne, American Sealants has experienced for itself the strong workforce Indiana has to offer companies. With our low cost of doing business and the best workforce around, Indiana continues to tell its story as a state that works.”

The company will be receiving an incentive package, valued at $551,576, from the Indiana Economic Development Corporation, Northeast Indiana Works and the City of Fort Wayne. The project will also include a 10‐year phase‐in tax abatement and is scheduled to be presented to City Council on March 24.

“I continue to be encouraged by the positive momentum and private investment we’re seeing in our community,” said Mayor Tom Henry. “We appreciate American Sealants commitment to being part of our local economic development efforts with their expansion and new jobs. Fort Wayne is a great location for businesses as we work to be a business leader in the Midwest.”
