FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Greater Fort Wayne Inc. today launched its new SHOP SMALLidays promotion, encouraging shoppers to support local businesses as they hunt for holiday gifts. So far, 12 companies have listed special deals and discounts at shopsmall.gfwinc.com, with more expected to be added in coming days.
SHOP SMALLidays is designed to steer customers toward small, local businesses in Allen County throughout the holiday season. All deals listed on the webpage are available via socially distanced methods like delivery or curbside pickup.
“Small business owners work hard to create jobs and make Allen County a better place to live. They’re our neighbors, they’re a critical part of what makes our community unique, and they need our help more than ever,” said Aaryn Eady, director of investor engagement at Greater Fort Wayne Inc. “We hope people make it a habit to shop local and support small businesses–throughout the holiday season and year-round.”
According to a 2018 study commissioned by American Express, for every dollar spent at a small business in the U.S., approximately 67 cents stays in the local community.
