Make a Big Difference on Small Business Saturday

This year, you can help bring success to our neighborhoods on November 30th, Small Business Saturday. Created by American Express in 2010, this day is celebrated on the Saturday after Thanksgiving and has given small businesses across the country a huge boost.

Small businesses are extremely important to the growth of our community. If you are interested in participating in this years Small Business Saturday, we want to hear from you. We need at least 10 qualifying small businesses to pledge to work with us to make this event a success.

QUALIFYING LOCAL SMALL BUSINESSES

In order to qualify, a small business must:

  • be located in the United States (including the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands) this means the business must have at least one storefront location or service area within the United States,
  • have no more than twenty five (25) locations within the United States, and
  • have total annual net revenue (from all locations combined) of no more than ten million dollars ($10,000,000) in the last year.

Despite otherwise fitting the above-listed criteria, a small business not may qualify if it manufactures, promotes or sells diet aids, drugs or other pharmaceuticals, pornography, sexual aids, gambling, liquor, tobacco, firearms or other weapons, promote or advocate for any sensitive or controversial topic, or otherwise participate in activities that we determine to be inconsistent with the values of American Express or the Shop Small movement.

Government agencies, public administration organizations, political organizations, charities, non-profit organizations, religious organizations, educational organizations, business and trade associations, franchisees, licensees, members of co-ops and shopping property management firms are not deemed small businesses for purposes of this Program.
