Ben Burkle
Economic Development Associate
Ben joined Greater Fort Wayne Inc. in 2024 as the Economic Development Intern, bringing his passion for local government and community development to the team. A lifelong Fort Wayne resident, Ben graduated from Purdue University Fort Wayne in 2025 with Bachelor’s degrees in Political Science and History, a minor in Business, and certificates in Civic Education and International Studies.
His interest in Fort Wayne’s growth was sparked in high school when he first learned about Greater Fort Wayne Inc.’s vision for the city. Now, as the Economic Development Associate, he’s thrilled to contribute to the projects that shape his hometown’s future. Ben’s enthusiasm for the region is evident in his commitment to supporting initiatives that benefit the community, and he is a member of the Mayor’s Young Adult Council, where he advocates for the needs of Fort Wayne’s Generation Z population.
Outside of work, Ben is a dedicated traveler with a goal of visiting all 50 states—16 down and counting! He’s also a theme park enthusiast, a Colts fan, and an avid collector of vinyl records, CDs, and tapes. When he’s not on the go, he enjoys experimenting in the kitchen and cooking up something new.
