FORT WAYNE, Ind. — The path out of the pandemic is becoming clearer, with COVID-19 vaccines now being shipped and broad availability inching closer. Local public health experts will shed light on the vaccines and the way forward for Allen County in a webinar on Tuesday, Jan. 5, organized by Greater Fort Wayne Inc.
Allen County Health Commissioner Dr. Matthew Sutter and Allen County Department of Health Administrator Mindy Waldron will serve as presenters for “COVID-19 Vaccines: What You Need to Know,” a free, hour-long webinar beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Jan. 5. Though the presentation is mainly intended for business leaders, the information can be useful for the general public as well.
The session will highlight:
- Vaccine basics – distribution timeline, costs, options, and safety.
- What business leaders should know and consider.
- Which health protocols to maintain while vaccines are distributed.
Registration is available at webinar.gfwinc.com.
“Public health and economic health go hand-in-hand. Until we get COVID-19 under control, we won’t see a full economic recovery,” said John Urbahns, president and CEO of GFW Inc. “We’re eager to see the vaccines become widely available–for the sake of our families, friends, and neighbors, and our local economy. In the meantime, we hope this presentation will help the community understand the facts about the vaccine and our path forward together.”
As always, business leaders can call the GFW Inc. office at 260-420-6945 with questions–COVID-19 related or otherwise. GFW Inc. has also created an online Resource Hub for local business leaders, featuring action items and answers to frequently asked questions, at covid19.gfwinc.com.
